Some of these songs are very gory as far as music videos because Halloween obviously but I just wanted to give a heads up. Like, watching Black or White again after so many years I had my mouth hanging open for half the mv because of how gory and actually stomach turning it is. Along with 1NB Where U At. Also the Witch mv actually scares me and I’ve seen it once and that’s it. It spooks me so much and I don’t know why. Also also, even tho I don’t listen to Vixx I’m not doubting that they are the kings of horror concepts

Tooksome quail photos for someone. These are some of my current Celadon quail, the ones that I'm not keeping.

This pattern mutation (extended brown/EB) isn't feather-sexable, so the bands are a filing system that gives me an easy way to tell at a glance how old bird is, and whether they're males or females. Blue for celadon, green for 2024 hatch. If both bands are on the same leg, the bird is a hen, if there's one band on each leg, it's a male. These guys washed out of breeding because they were slower to get to crowing or laying than their same-hatch siblings, and they already take 10 weeks to get there normally, so I'm not interested in keeping the slower ones.

Their hatch group was large enough that I was able to put together two groups of hens- one for cycling back into the celadons, and one for outcrossing to the wild type male I picked up from Wisconsin.

The babies from the latter group are the ones hatching now! And my goodness they look different than the full EB birds. I can still clearly see the wild striping on them, compared to full EB where that striping is nearly or completely gone.

Since the WT male carries Roux (a red, sex-linked gene), and I'm pretty sure my birds also have roux, there's a pretty clear difference between the roux babies and the non-roux babies, as well. The goal (and hopefully the birds cooperate) is to take a roux male from this round of hatching, and put him over non-roux hens, since they should not have SLB or Roux. This should completely eliminate any Sex-linked Brown("SLB") from the offspring (the goal). Hens from this WT male (WT/r) cannot carry SLB (since they get their sex gene from dad, and he doesn't have SLB so any non-roux hens have a wild Z chromosome), and roux males cannot carry SLB either (because both their Z chromosomes have a different sex-linked gene: roux).

They've got other genes (fee, for sure), so I'm going to have to clean the line further obviously, but if the breeder I got the WT male from knew enough to get me an actual WT het roux male, then this is a HUGE first step.
